Biography

Dr. Kathyn Holt is an Associate Professor, NHMRC Career Development Fellow, & Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. She establishes and applies population genomic frameworks and associated tools to study important pathogens, including typhoid, dysentery and the emerging hospital superbugs Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter baumannii. She aims to understand the evolution, transmission, and spread of antimicrobial resistance, especially in hospital pathogens and foodborne pathogens. She runs a computational and genome sequencing lab at the University of Melbourne and works closely with collaborators in other research, public health and hospital labs to develop projects and generate data.
