Biography

Professor Kevin Outterson is a Boston University Professor of Law and N. Neal Pike Scholar in Health and Disability Law, and the executive director of Boston University’s CARB-X – a non-profit company that is accelerating global antibacterial innovation by investing more than $500 million in the development of new antibiotics and other life-saving products to combat the most dangerous drug-resistant bacteria. Outterson gives lectures to discuss the obstacles in research and development as well as problems with the business model of the pharmaceutical industry that prevents the successful development of new classes of antibiotics.
